ITANAGAR, May 23: Responding to Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s criticism of the Congress party on Tuesday, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) retaliated, saying “Ulta chor kotwal ko daante” (the pot calling the kettle black).
The chief minister during a party meeting had alleged that the Congress party made the people of Arunachal Pradesh “mentally corrupt” and to go for “easy money.”
Describing the statement as “anti-Aruanchalee”, and a great insult to the people of the state, the APCC reminded the chief minister that Pema and many of his council of ministers and MLAs, who are now in the BJP camp, had got elected from Congress party tickets in 2014.
The APCC said the chief minister made such statement only to “please” the BJP high command.
Stating that the chief minister should first clean himself from various corruption allegations, the APCC cautioned Pema to refrain from making such allegations for cheap political gain.
