LONGDING, Jun 15: The Longding district urban development agency (DUDA) organised a workshop under ‘Support to urban street vendors and social mobilization & institution development’ – a component of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) – at the Tingpong Wangham badminton hall here on Friday.
Twelve SHGs members were provided with a revolving fund of Rs 10,000 each, and 58 registered street vendors were given a day’s wage, amounting to Rs 300 each, through the public finance management system (PFMS) portal during the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, State Urban Livelihoods Mission manager Ravi Sharma explained the DAY-NULM component and urged the SHGs and vendors to be in constant touch with the DUDA.
Zedua ASM urged the street vendors and the SHGs to cooperate with the DUDA for beautification of the town.
Besides members of SHGs and vendors, government officers and members of the public attended the programme.
