DC calls for effective implementation of Mission Antyodaya

CHANGLANG, Sep 26: Changlang Deputy Commissioner, Wayong Khimhun has directed all the block and gram Panchayat level nodal officers and officers of line departments to carry out their duties sincerely for the implementation of Mission Antyodaya: Gram Smridhi Evam Swachaata Pakhwada from October 1 to 15 next.
Addressing at the coordination meeting on implementation of Mission Antyodaya on Tuesday, The DC said that the baseline survey should be properly conducted for preparation of road map for the development of the rural areas.
He further directed concerned line departments to submit status of Aadhar seeding, list of bank account holders and the exact number of Individual Household Latrines constructed in various villages.
Briefing the members, Khimhun clarified that the Pakhwada has two distinct components, where the first component focuses on Gram Sabha meetings, cleanliness campaigns and public information on different schemes of the government, implemented across all Gram Panchayats. The second component of the Pakhwada would be implemented across 50,000 Gram Panchayats or 5000 clusters for Mission Antyodaya programme.
Speaking as a resource person, EAC/BDO, W Mossang presented details of activities to be taken up during Mission Antyodaya. He informed that objective of Mission Antyodaya is to bring one crore households out of poverty and make 50,000 GPs/5000 clusters poverty free by 2022.
The state government is in the process of identifying 356 Gram Panhayats to be covered under 1st phase of Mission Antyodaya from 2017-2022, he said.
DDMO D Khandu gave a power-point presentation on an android based application, which is being developed to collect information through a handheld device for Swachh Gram and Gram Samridhi.
Earlier, DRDA PD Talo Jerang explained the purpose and importance of the celebration of Mission Antyodaya: Gram Smridhi Evam Swachaata Pakhwada.
Among others, all the officials of line departments, BDOs, member secretaries of Gram Panchayats attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
