ITANAGAR, Sep 1: The All Lower Subansiri Trans-Arunachal Highway Land Affected Peoples Forum (ALSTAHLAPF) has decided to go ahead with a district bandh from 5 AM of September 6 to 5 PM of September 7.
This is in continuation to the demand for early completion of land acquisition process and disbursement of compensation to the highway affected people as per the assessment done in the year 2014, which was reportedly re-verified in 2015.
The decision was taken in a meeting held on August 31 in presence of over 500 affected families of the Trans-Arunachal Highway from Potin to Bopi in Lower Subansiri district, the Forum said.
The Forum further said that the district administration has failed to fulfil its demands submitted earlier and demanded that the list of affected families be furnished to avoid unwanted problems during the compensation disbursement in the future.
The house also seriously viewed the non-maintenance of road from Potin to Bopi.
Milk vans, para-military, magistrates on duty, ambulance, pharmacy, fire services and media persons are exempted from the purview of the bandh.
