KHONSA, Aug 1: Fifteen persons without ILP were apprehended from the district headquarters here during a check drive conducted by the Tirap district administration and police on 31 July.
They were remanded to one day’s police custody and charged with offence punishable under section 3 of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act, 1873
The check drive was carried out apprehending that people, who have failed to make it to the final list of the NRC draft, could sneak into the state and district. (DIPRO)
