NAMSAI, Aug 1: The PM’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment (POSHAN) was observed in all the ICDS projects of Namsai district, with the celebration of Suposhan Diwas at the Lord Buddha Prayer Hall here, where local food and vegetables were displayed.
The Poshan Abhiyaan has been implemented with the coordination of departments of Health, PHE&WE and district administration.
The scheme was launched under the extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan in all the three ICDS projects of Namsai district, which included two programmes of village health, sanitation and nutrition day (VHSND) and community-based events like celebration of Suposhan Diwas.
The programmes were conducted in three phases in three months.
Namsai Deputy Commissioner RK Sharma, ADC Bijoy Talukdar, GB Deobeel CC Mansai, Namsai CDPO W Khimhun, anganwadi workers, field staff and staff of the line department were present on the occasion.
