ITANAGAR, Aug 14: The Changlang District Peoples’ Forum (CDPF) submitted a representation to the home minister on Monday, requesting him to instruct the rural works department (RWD) to expedite the upgrading work on the nine police stations and the construction of 11 new police stations in Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) districts.
“The union ministry of home affairs on 6 March, 2018, had approved the enhancement of the project cost to the tune of Rs 156.20 crores under the project called ‘Security infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh – Strategy to clear TCL districts from militancy’, for construction of 11 new police stations and upgrading of nine existing police stations, including accommodation for police personnel, approach road and security wall,” the forum stated in its representation.
Expressing happiness over the central government’s projects in TCL districts, the forum urged the RWD to comply with the direction of the home affairs ministry for completion of the projects within 31 August, 2020.
