ROING, Aug 20: Denlo and Bomjir villages in Lower Dibang Valley district have been selected to be developed as smart villages.
Smart Village Movement (SVM) regional associate (east) Banta Natung informed this during a meeting at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner here on Monday.
Natung also presented a brief on the SVM. “The Smart Village Movement, with a vision to build smart villages by empowering people and a mission to increase happiness of the villagers, aims to develop 100 smart villages in the state,” he said.
A smart village is a community empowered by digital technologies and open innovation platform to access global market, he said.
Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom asked the district’s officers to provide available data for successful implementation of the SVM programme.
ADC Cheshta Yadav, heads of departments and administrative officers of the district attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
