BASAR, Aug 31: For the first time ever, a river rafting expedition was conducted at Basar, West Siang district under the aegis of GRK Basar.
The expedition started from Nyodu Village and after a day of rafting and angling, ended at Siru village.
GRK Basar is a social organisation based out of Basar and works for economic and social upliftment of surrounding areas. This trial run was carried out in order to test the viability of rafting and angling as a potential tourist attraction in the area.
Director of Donyi Hango Tours and Eco Resort in Pasighat, Nino Dai, assisted by Tobang Perme and Nang Lego led the expedition. Tajen Kamum Vice-President of GRK, Nyomar Nyodu Co- Chairman BasCon, Taya Riji, Coordinator Siru Unit, Doni Riba, and Coordinator Media Cell GRK accompanied the expert team.
