Vajpayee’s ashes to arrive in capital

ITANAGAR, Aug 22: The ashes of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be arriving at Naharlagun Helipad at 3 pm from New Delhi on 23 August.
The pot containing the ashes of the former prime minister will be brought from the helipad at around 3.30pm to the state BJP office.
A prayer/condolence meeting is being organized by the state BJP to pay homage to the departed leader. All the ministers, MLAs, senior leaders, state office bearers and party workers are expected to attend.
Thereafter, the ashes will be taken to the Dorjee Khandu Convention Center, where a condolence meeting will be organized by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh from 5 pm for paying last respect to the departed leader.
On 24 August, the ashes will be flown to Parshuram Kund for immersion at the holy site.
En route to Parshuram Kund, the helicopter carrying the ashes will make a stopover for an hour at Pasighat Airport for refuel at 9 am. During that period, the ashes will be displayed for general public and party workers.
