TAWANG, Oct 10: A meeting in connection with the Tawang Festival 2017, which is set to start from October 26, was held at the DC’S Conference Hall on Tuesday.
Besides formation of committees and distribution of work, various aspects such as law and order issues, traffic management, hospitality, rate of food items, etc were thoroughly discussed.
Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi made it clear that the festival is not a profit-making venture and asked all the departments and NGOs involved, ensuring judicious use of funds.
Tawang DC Sang Phuntsok requested for cooperation from all and opined that though star attractions are important, locals should be given equal opportunity to exhibit and nurture talents. He also asked the committees to ensure participation of tourists by engaging them in various activities during the four-day festival.
ZPC Tawang Jambey Tsering called for keeping a check on unlawful activities to prevent any untoward incidents, while Tawang SP, M K Meena said that policy of zero tolerance would be followed for any violations and requested the committees to cooperate in ensuring the same. (DIPRO)
