NAMTHUNG, Oct 4: A two-day regional workshop of the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTTR) was inaugurated by Education Minister Honchun Ngandam at the government polytechnic college here in West Kameng district on Thursday.
Lauding the efforts of the director of NITTTR Kolkata, Ngandam said such occasional meets provide “the right platform to hammer out solutions for the issues pertaining to the institutions, including placement of jobs for the passed-out students.”
The minister said the state government under CM Pema Khandu “is dead serious about the education sector and has therefore brought numerous changes.”
Among others, MLA Phurpa Tsering, DC Sonal Swaroop, NITTTR Director Prof Phalguni Gupta, and Technical Education Director Dr T Talom also spoke.
Earlier in the morning, Ngandam, accompanied by the local legislator visited the Sarada Mission school in Khaso, and the nearby government schools.
At Sarada Mission, the minister said he would pursue the CM regarding the committed corpus fund announced during the CM’s visit to the school in May last.
He also assured to allot fund to complete the school’s half-built laboratory building being constructed under NLCPR. (DIPRO)
