WAKRO, Oct 9: The Wildlife Week celebration by the Kamlang Tiger Reserve & Wildlife Sanctuary (TR&WLS) division here in Lohit district concluded on 8 October.
The concluding programme at the community hall in Towam village here was attended by, among others,EDC Kamlang TR chairman Soto Thalai and secretary Solen Rangmang, gaon burahs, and former panchayat members.
Thalai and Rangmang assured the department that they would assist it in its endeavour to protect and preserve wildlife and their habitat. Kamlang TR&WLS Division DFO Koj Tassar and RFO Kelsan Dechen explained the need to protect and preserve wildlife.
Various wildlife awareness programmes, along with cleanliness drives, tree plantation, etc, were organized at various fringe villages, with the involvement of students and locals, during the weeklong celebration.
