ITANAGAR, Oct 21: Five teams made it through to the quarterfinals of the Vishwakarma Football Running Trophy Tournament on Sunday.
The teams, which have qualified for the quarterfinals, are KK FC, Future Legend FC, Upper Subansiri District Collegian Coordination Committee Capital Complex SC (USDCCCCCSC), Rughu Sport’s Club and Champion FC.
KKFC beat Rising XI 5-2 in the first match, while Future Legend FC beat Chimpu FC 3-2 (via penalty shootout) in the second match at the playground of KV No 2, Chimpu near here.
USDCCCCCSC made it to the last eight defeating 7D FC 6-0, while Rughu Sport’s Club secured their place in the quarterfinals defeating Ajing United Club 3-0.
Champion FC came from behind to beat 5/1 United FC 2-1 to book their place in the last eight.
The remaining three pre-quarterfinal matches will be held on Monday.
Brother’s Sporting Club will be up against Seley Colony FC at 12 noon, while T-Group will meet Chimpu Richi Youth (CRY) FC at 1:30pm before Yukar Yaluk FC taking on Techi Rakesh FC at 3pm.
