PASIGHAT, Nov 3: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak has directed the district food & civil supplies officer and the EAC (judicial) to check the use of domestic cooking gas (LPG) for commercial purposes.
The DC gave the instruction after a complaint was received from the district unit of the Consumer Rights Organization (CRO) that several hoteliers, restaurant owners and roadside food stalls are using LPG meant for domestic use, due to which there has been acute shortage of cooking gas for domestic use.
The CRO unit submitted a detailed list of the establishments that are using domestic cylinders for commercial purposes to the administration. (DIPRO)
