ITANAGAR, Nov 17: The zonal qualifying rounds of the 17th Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament for Zone 3 began at the Daying Ering football stadium in Nari in Lower Siang district on Friday.
West Siang won the inaugural match, defeating East Siang 3-0.
The second match of the day was played between Lower Siang and Upper Siang, in which the former defeated the latter 5-2.
There are five teams/districts in Zone 3.
All the districts have been divided into six zones, and the two top teams from each zone will qualify for the final round, which will be held in Namsai in December.
Earlier, the inaugural ceremony was attended by local MLA Kento Rina, East Siang SP Taru Gusar, ADC Bani Lego, Arunachal Olympic Association vice-president Gechi Doke, East Siang DSO Nada Apa, former player Tamat Gamoh and East Siang DFA president General Jamoh.
