ITANAGAR, Dec 7: The 302 Action Committee, an organization following up on the 2 May, 2016 firing incident in which two people were killed by police in Tawang, has requested that the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
It said that even after the passing of more than three years, the families of the victims, and the survivors, are yet to get justice due to the slow pace of investigation.
“The SIT investigating the case is taking too long, and there has been no outcome till date,” the committee’s president, LT Khom, stated in a letter to the governor. “Hence, the matter should be immediately handed over to the CBI for speedy investigation.”
The committee also questioned the delay in submission of report by the one-man inquiry committee. Hage Khoda, the officer investigating the case, is yet to submit his report, it said.
“The instant case is not in the high court and, as such, it can be easily handed over to the CBI for proper and thorough investigation,” it said.
The 302 Action Committee requested the governor to direct the authority concerned to hand over the case to the CBI at an early date.
