ITANAGAR, Sep 6: The Community food and Nutrition Extension Unit (CFNU), Itanagar, Ministry of Women and Child Development, in collaboration with Urban ICDS Project Itanagar celebrated National Nutrition Week on Monday at Senki View AWC, Itanagar.
Women, including those pregnant and lactating, besides adolescent girls, Anganwadi workers, helpers, ICDS functionaries of the project and members from urban local bodies participated in the celebration.
Giving an overview of the programme, Child Development Project Officer S C Tok said pregnant or lactating mothers and adolescent girls should be aware of various types of food they need to intake for better health.
CFNU Demonstration Officer, T Banarjee spoke about various types of food, sources of vitamins, minerals, iron and carbohydrates, and their benefits to various categories of population.
Kipa Lolgo, Ward Member of the area also spoke on the occasion. Quiz competition was also organized as part of the celebration.
