Local MLA Tage Taki advised the DPDO to “segregate the entire schemes department-wise, with indexes for easy reference, to assist in framing convergent development agendas.”
Terming the GPDP a “very good initiative by the government,” he exhorted the major departments to participate proactively in gram sabhas during the planning phase.
DPDO Gombu Tsering informed that the final GPDP was prepared “inclusive of 18 departments relating to 29 subjects.”
He said all the schemes presented for approval were meticulously selected through gram sabhas, involving members of the gram panchayat interim committee-level facilitators and frontline workers of line departments.
He also read out the exercises carried out by the panchayat department since the launch of the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) on 2 October this year.
SIRD faculty member Likha Kiran Kabak also stressed on a comprehensive and convergent GPDP.
