ZIRO, Dec 23: Tourism Assistant Director Bengia Manna Sonam inaugurated The Golden Resort, under the Chief Minister’s Paryatan Vikas Yojna (CMPVY), at Biirii model village here in Lower Subansiri district on Saturday.
In her speech, Sonam said sustainable tourism would not only help local unemployed youths become self-employed but also create “environmental-friendly business opportunities” for qualified and deserving youths of the area.
She enumerated the plans and schemes of the tourism department for supporting deserving youths of the state.
The resort’s managing director, Tage Padi, expressed gratitude to the tourism department, saying he was emboldened to persist in achieving his “dream plan” because of continued support and guidance from the department.
Padi, who was an unemployed youth earlier, established the resort in order to become self-employed.
The resort will generate employment opportunities and help to boost tourism in his village and the district as whole, said DIPRO.
