ITANAGAR, Mar 11: Condolences have poured in from several quarters on the sudden demise of state’s Science & Technology Secretary Gaken Ete, who passed away on 9 March in Guwahati following a brief illness.
Born on 23rd January, 1961, Ete joined as assistant engineer in the Rural Works Department in 1984, and joined as secretary to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh in 2010 after serving as a chief engineer for nearly seven years.
All officials of the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat assembled to condole the sudden and untimely demise of Ete and observed two-minute silence in honour of the departed soul.
Chief Secretary Satya Gopal read out a condolence message, wherein Ete’s contributions to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh were highlighted.
The Water Resources Department (WRD)also remembered Ete and expressed grief over the sudden and premature death of the former chief engineer.
All officials of the WRD chief engineer’s office, and superintending engineer, tube well and ground water office observed two-minute silence in Ete’s memory, and prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul.
They also conveyed deep sorrow to the bereaved family members and relatives, and prayed to bestow them with strength to bear the irreparable loss.
