ITANAGAR, Mar 26: Following the police complaint lodged by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts’ Guwahati-based NE regional centre’s director, Dr Richa Negi, Naharlagun SST-B Magistrate Honi Bayang sought to refute the allegation, saying “the vehicle and passengers were subjected to the same standard procedure of checking as per SOP as was being done to all vehicles since the notification of election.”
The magistrate said that “the conduct of the team was misunderstood and taken into ego, during which the driver, after climbing down from the vehicle, also refused to open the trunk of the car.”
The magistrate said the incident was unfortunate, and was the only such to have occurred since the notification of elections.
