FFA to host 6th Arunachal Film Festival

ITANAGAR, Mar 27: The Film Federation of Arunachal (FFA) has announced that the 6th edition of the Arunachal Film Festival will be held here on 20 and 21 April.
The two-day event is being organized by the FFA in collaboration with the information & public relations (IPR) department.
Addressing a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club on Wednesday, FFA general secretary Shambo Flago informed that this year too, the festival will feature a competition in the short film category.
He said the short films would have to be of a maximum duration of five minutes, and on the theme, ‘Social burning issues of Arunachal’.
“The first two winners of the short film competition will be awarded trophies, citations, and a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 75,000, respectively,” he informed.
Besides the short film competition, the best feature and documentary films will be selected from among the entries, and will be given cash award of Rs 2 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh, respectively.
“The last date for submission of the short films is 15 April, while 13 April is the last date for submission of documentary and feature films,” Flago informed.
The entries will have to be submitted at the ‘video section’ of the IPR department in Naharlagun. Further information on the competition criteria can be accessed on the department’s website, and from the FFA’s Facebook page, Flago added.
He informed that, as an addition to this year’s festival, the FFA will give away awards to the best director, actor, actress, musician, singer, lyricist, etc, besides a lifetime achievement award, as a form of encouragement and in recognition of the filmmakers and artists of the state.
