ITANAGAR, Apr 18: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) has appealed for early lifting of the state government’s orders on financial transaction.
In a representation to the finance secretary, the association on Thursday said the contractors are facing serious financial problems due to non-clearance of cheques at various banks and non-releasing of drafts from treasuries and sub-treasuries, following the government’s orders issued on 28 March and 15 April.
“If the state government had no sufficient funds in the state exchequer, why did it release the LoC to all working departments?” the AACWA said, adding that some of the works departments had issued cheques to contractors but the contractors did not get clearance from the banks.
Requesting the government to lift the orders on financial transaction, the association threatened to pursue “other option in democratic way” if the government fails to address the grievance.
