AALO/ZIRO, May 5: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha gave away the Fransalian scholarships to 45 meritorious students of St Francis De Sales College in a function organized here in West Siang district on Sunday to mark the ‘3rd commencement ceremony of the 2019 graduating batch of the college.’
The VC in his address advised the students to “have a clear vision in life and work hard to achieve your goals.”
West Siang SP Jummar Basar and MSFS Dibrugarh region director Fr Emmanuel also spoke.
In Lower Subansiri district, various scholarships and academic awards amounting to Rs 4 lakhs were given to 85 students during the commencement ceremony of the class of 2019 of Saint Claret College in Ziro on Sunday.
Prominent among these were the Single Step Foundation scholarship for 51 female students, the Grace Educare scholarship, and the SCCZ Academic and Residential scholarships.
In addition to these, various scholarships instituted by generous individuals were also distributed during the function.
Addressing the function, Prof Saroj Kumar Patel from the Rourkela-based NIT’s mechanical engineering department advised the students to be “sincere, honest and resort to hard work as a means to success.”
RGU Joint Registrar Dr David Pertin exhorted the students to be focused on their studies, and lauded the college for “bringing new standards in higher education.”
Dr MM Singh from the Arunachal Pradesh NIT’s management department, parents, well-wishers and the students and staff of the college were present at the function. (With DIPRO input)
