NAHARLAGUN, Jun 26: The Medical Education department of the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) conducted a national level ‘Curriculum implementation support programme (CISP)’ here recently under the aegis of the Medical Council of India (MCI), regional centre, Jorhat (Assam).
Twenty nine faculty members of the TRIHMS attended the workshop, which was organised to train them on implementing the new MBBS curriculum, which is going to be implemented from August 2019 throughout the country.
“The new curriculum is a long awaited change required in the pattern of teaching and assessment of MBBS students which takes place after about two decades,” TRIHMS MCI nodal officer Dr Mika Umpo informed in a release.
With this new curriculum implementation, the country will meet the criteria of the World Federation Medical Education and get status at par with any developed country in the world, he added.
MCI observer Dr Purnima Baruah and TRIHMS Director Dr Moji Jini also gave their inputs during the workshop.
