ITANAGAR, Jul 1: The All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical & Computer Engineers’ Association has requested the deputy chief minister to initiate urgent steps to create “various categories of technical and non-technical posts for the respective divisions, as per the CPWD norms, and include the newly-created posts of junior engineers (JE) in the recent advertisement, in the interest of the state’s electromechanical students.”
In a memorandum to the DCM, the association on Monday also demanded that advertisement for the posts of assistant engineers (AE) be floated within the current fiscal.
“The electromechanical graduate engineering students have been deprived since many years because of negligence in recruitment of JEs or AEs in power, hydropower and APEDA departments. As per department record, it has been revealed that during 2016, three transmission divisions were created in the Pasighat, Bomdila and Itanagar transmission divisions without creation of manpower. Despite creation of three transmission divisions, six electrical divisions and one SE circle superintendent engineer, not even a single post in any category has been created to man these divisions, whereas, as per provisions laid down in the CPWD manual, it is mandatory that the posts of EE, AE, JE, electricians, clerical staff, etc, must be created against a division,” it said.
Claiming that the newly-created divisions are presently manned by “AEs as EEs and JEs as AEs,” the association said the temporary arrangements are not only in complete violation of procedures “but also deprive and demoralize thousands of genuine and deserving unemployed engineers.”
