DOIMUKH, Sep 23: Twenty-nine volunteers from the Nehru Yuva Kendras in Kohima and Dimapur (both in Nagaland) were inducted as part of a six-day training programme on disaster management which began here in Papum Pare district on Monday.
12th Bn NDRF Commandant Umesh Kr Thapliyal, who inaugurated the programme, said “the training will generate in the trainees skills as first responders in any emergency situation. During this course, they will learn about MFR, search-and-rescue, and other techniques of the NDRF.”
He advised the trainees to actively participate in the course, so that they can act as first responders in the event of any disaster.
