ITANAGAR, Oct 28: National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Member, Rosy Taba, emphasized the need for establishing childcare institutes (CCI) in all the districts of the state.
Taba, who is currently on a four-day visit to Arunachal to review the schemes undertaken by the women & child development (WCD) ministry, also called for providing orientation training to the members of the Child Welfare Committee and the Juvenile Justice Board.
She called on the state’s WCD Director, TP Loyi, here on Monday, and was briefed on the various child-related schemes being implemented in the state.
The NCPCR member commended the programmes being carried out by the department, and also lauded the state government for allocating funds for the special children residing in various CCIs.
She asked the WCD department to “invite genuine NGOs for running Childline in all the districts of the state,” and to also invite corporate bodies, as well as local legislators, to contribute for the welfare of the children.
