BALAPU, Nov 8: Thirty-two farmers from Balapu and nearby areas benefitted from a ‘field day on fish farming’, organised here by the Papum Pare KVK on 7 November.
During the programme, which was aimed at educating the farmers on composite fish culture, fisheries scientist Dr Vivekanand Safi informed that “fish production increases three- to four-fold under the composite fish culture system over the traditional methods.”
He advised the farmers to “adopt composite fish culture in their ponds for maximum economic gain.”
The KVK’s farm manager Dr Nabam Gama, horticulture scientist Hemanta Nynganbam, and agronomy scientist Tadang Meena also shared their experiences with the farmers.
