TAWANG, Nov 8: At least 32 government departments took part in the second round of the Sarkar Aapke Dwar (SAD) camp organised at the government upper primary school in Shobur here on Thursday.
The camp covered Tsaikhar, Gomkang, Yusum, Shobur, Kangteng and a few other villages.
MLA Tsering Tashi, who inaugurated the camp, advised the villagers to educate their children to be good citizens, saying that “education is the only key which can bring enlightenment and social changes.”
“An educated farmer can grow better agricultural crops; we need to give better skill development and character-building education to our younger generations,” Tashi said.
He commended the villagers of Tsaikhar-Yusum area “for growing a good number of vegetables and bringing it to market,” adding that “we should not leave our traditional source of families’ income, that is, agriculture.”
The MLA gave assurance to the villagers that solar fencing would be provided to them to keep wild boars and other animals from destroying their crops.
Tashi later felicitated the toppers among the students of the school’s Classes 1-8.
Tawang DC (in-charge) Lobsang Tsering spoke on the importance of education and the benefits of SAD camps. (DIPRO)
