RONO HILL, Nov 19: More than 150 students participated in a two-day workshop on ‘Career planning and opportunities in the organised sector’, organised by Rajiv Gandhi University’s (RGU) management department, in association with the university’s career counselling cell, on 18 and 19 November.
RGU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Amitava Mitra, who inaugurated the workshop, stressed the importance of “skill development and industry exposure,” while Sequoia Technologies’ CEO, Sujit Panigrahi, spoke on “how to become an entrepreneur,” and on “sports management as a career.”
The Northeast Finance Bank’s ‘chief people officer’, Tridip Sharma, enumerated the career prospects in the corporate sector and how to develop the requisite skills for employability, and Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Chairman, Deepak Kumar Gupta, elaborated the career opportunities in the banking and insurance sectors.
RGU’s Management HoD Arindam Garg, its Commerce & Management Dean, Prof Tasi Kaye, and Dr Odang Tayeng also spoke.
