ITANAGAR, Nov 21: Debutant Tawang played a 1-1 draw against host East Kameng in the opening match on the second day of the zonal qualifying rounds of the 18th Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament, 2019, played at the general ground in East Kameng HQ Seppa on Thursday.
East Kameng’s Anand Tawe scored a goal for his team in the 21st minute of the match. Tawang came back strong in the second half and equalized through Thupta Tashi.
In the second match of the Zone 1, West Kameng thrashed Pakke-Kessang 7-1 to become the first team from Zone 1 to qualify for the final round of the tournament, to be played in East Siang HQ Pasighat from 15 December.
In Zone 2, Lower Subansiri defeated Papum Pare by 4-2 to reach the final round along with Capital Complex FA.
With two straight defeats, Papum Pare is out of the championship.
In Zone 3, Kra Daadi became the first team to qualify for the final round by registering two straight wins in the qualifiers.
Kra Daadi defeated host Upper Subansiri by 1-0 in a hard-fought second match of the second day. Takam Kakum rescued three points for them with a decent goal in the 25th minute of the match.
Earlier, in the first match, Kurung Kumey defeated Kamle 2-1. Gyamar Kuku and Tadar Janu scored for the winning team, while the lone goal for Kamle came through Tame Loram.
