PASIGHAT, Nov 23: The 4th edition of the district-level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy (HDMT) tournament got underway here in East Siang district on Saturday.
In both the boys’ and girls’ categories, 38-Pasighat East won the football matches, defeating 37-West Pasighat. The winning teams will take on 39-Mebo in the final match on Sunday.
In his inaugural speech, EAC Kamin Darang advised the teams to maintain discipline and sportsmanship spirit throughout the competition.
DSO (Sports) Nada Apa informed that the HDMT tournament “is the largest sports event in the state.” He highlighted the brief history of martyr havildar Hangpan Dada, and the objective of the competition, which is conducted by the sports department.
Among others, ADC Tatdo Borang, DDSE Jongge Yirang, DOA vice-chairman Onya Padung, DFA president General Jamoh and secretary Tayon Dai, and DVA president Len Tamuk witnessed the matches. (DIPRO)
