AALO, Nov 28: Sports Secretary Ameya Abhiyankar has said he would make “extra efforts” to ensure that the construction of the stadium here in West Siang district resumes at the earliest.
bhiyankar said this after he, along with Sports Director T Apa and AE M Kabak, inspected the incomplete stadium on Tuesday and interacted with the public.
Abhiyankar said fund for the stadium had been “sanctioned from the special plan assistance (SPA) scheme and according to SPA guidelines, but work could not be completed in three years due to some issues, and consequently lapsed.”
He, however, assured to “revive the fund with special effort.”
The officers also inspected the sports complex in Kamdi, near Darka, and assured to take up on priority the matter of addressing the obstructions to the establishment of a SAI complex here within six months. (DIPRO)
