NAMSAI, Dec 20: The 4th convocation of the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) was held here on Friday, in the presence of 28 gold medallists, 487 doctoral, PG and UG awardees, and dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Namsai DC Bijoy Talukdar lauded the AUS “for being a constant force in the academic development and creating ample employment opportunities” in the region.
“People entering Namsai get a positive impression of the AUS, which is changing the perception of the people about the region,” he said.
World Education Mission president, AL Agarwal, emphasized on providing value-based education, and applauded the university for awarding its first four PhD degrees, and its plan to start DLit and DSc courses from 2020-21.
AUS chancellor Vishva Lochan, who presided over the ceremony, spoke about the “superior career prospects of the students of the AUS in the organised job market.”
He said the “AUS is contributing immensely towards making the students, especially those belonging to the indigenous communities, better professionals with the help of quality education.”
Vice-chancellor, Prof OP Sharma, highlighted the university’s achievements in the past seven years and its future goals. He also administered the convocation oath to the students.
AUS registrar Divyanshu Goel also spoke.
