ITANAGAR, Nov 18: Activities of the Department of Geology & Mining were reviewed by new Secretary (G&M), Dr Madhu Rani Teotia in a departmental coordination meeting held on November 17 at the Capital Complex DC’s conference hall.
Since the Department of Geology & Mining has emerged as the third highest revenue earning department in the state, the Secretary emphasised on the need to augment the revenue generation to achieve the revenue target set for the AMDOs for2017-18.
Emphasis was also laid on effective monitoring and curbing illegal transportation of minerals and any unscientific mining activity.
On the occasion, bar code computerised challan issuing systems to check duplication of mining permits and challans, GPS handsets, and walkie-talkie sets to each AMDO were also distributed.
Director (G&M) Tasser Talar, other officers of the department and assistant mineral development officers from all districts attended the meeting.
