TEZU, Jan 28: A weeklong ‘disaster awareness programme and mock drills’, organised by the Lohit district disaster management agency (DDMA), concluded here on Monday. The programme was conducted in collaboration with New Delhi-based Organization of Disaster Managers (ODM).
During the course of the week, a team of officials led by DDMO Damchin Norbu conducted the programme at the GHSS in Jeko, the GSS’ in Telluliang, Changliang, Medo, Wakro and Yealiang, the VKVs in Tezu and Sunpura, the GUPS TCM, and the GUPS Tezu West.
Six resource persons from the ODM, led by Vinod Bhardwaj, gave basic training in fire safety and handling of fire extinguisher, flood safety, earthquake safety, first aid, search and rescue, etc.
The DDMA also distributed fire extinguishers, disaster safety boards and disaster safety pamphlets to all the teachers and students during the training programme. (DIPRO)
