ZIRO, Feb 28: Sixteen librarians, assistant librarians and students of library sciences from seven institutions in Northeast India participated in a national workshop on ‘open source software for digital libraries and library automation’ at St Claret College (SCC) here in Lower Subansiri district from 25-27 February.
During the workshop, organized by Bangalore-based Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in collaboration with SCC, ISI DRTC head Devika Madalli, retired ISI professor ARD Prasad, and Dr Firstborn Sumer from the NEHU imparted training on digital libraries and library management systems.
They also equipped the participants with knowledge of DSpace and Koha software, and provided demonstration and hands-on practice on open source software.
