ITANAGAR, Nov 23: In a representation to the Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University, the Arunachal Law Students’ Union (ALSU) has on Thursday sought early creation of a Law Department at the University, besides appointing of law faculty members and introducing LLM programme at the earliest.
The Union stated that with the coming up of Government Law College and other private law institutes, it has become necessary to create a Law Department in the University.
‘Absence of a Law Department in the university bars the pursuance of further higher studies of law graduate apprentices within the state. Moreover, absence of a parental Law Department in the university concerned causes impediment in meting out effective directives on affiliated law institutes in regard to setting up of syllabus, proper promotion system and to look into the matter of timely declaration of semester results’, it claimed.
