Assessment prog for identification of MRPs begins

ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad, in collaboration with State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) and state Panchayati Raj Department is conducting four days orientation-cum-assessment programme for identification of Master Resource Persons, which began at the SIRD Complex here on Tuesday.
In his inaugural address, DIRD DD, Dr V K Sharma requested the participants to become partners of development under the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, while Consultant, Centre for Panchayati Raj, NIRD, Md Taquiuddin highlighted the NIRD’s endeavour to develop a pool of resource persons through various methods.
DD-cum-SNO-PR department, A G Ligu called upon the participants to take maximum benefit from the programme as they, after being certified as master trainers, will have to shoulder the responsibility to create awareness and capacity building of the Panchayat leaders in rural areas, which ultimately will lead to success of local self governance and implementation of various development programmes.
SIRD AD S W Bagang, who is also course director of the programme, highlighted the benefits of being identified as master resource person to the participants. He requested them to be the part of capacity builders of elected PR representatives in the days to come by qualifying the assessment test to be conducted in last two days of this four days programme.
Altogether, 47 master trainers from the districts have registered themselves for the assessment test.
