Child labour rescued from advocate’s house

NAHARLAGUN, Sep 3: A nine-year old girl was rescued from the house of an advocate in Naharlagun’s D-Sector colony on September 2 last by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Labour Department, with the assistance of a police team.
Child line Itanagar sources informed that they received a complaint from an unidentified person about a child labour who was repeatedly abused by the employer, following which, the CWC and Labour Department were informed.
The team arrived at Kado Apartment in D-Sector, Naharlagun and found the child tied to an iron pillar.
Sources also said that the child in her statement informed that she was brought to Naharlagun by some unidentified woman, who left her in the house of the advocate.
Reportedly, she helped out in the household work and was beaten by her employer, and subsequently tied up for allegedly stealing money.
A case has been registered at the Naharlagun Police Station.
