ITANAGAR, Sep 8: The three day’s training programme for Manual Assistants organized by Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs (LMCA) concluded at its conference hall, Naharalagun on Friday.
Addressing the participants in the valedictory function, Controller of LMCA Hoktum Ori urged them to perform their assigned duties with renewed vigour in order to upgrade the activities of the Department. He termed the Manual Assistants as the key persons in assisting the Legal Metrology officials during periodical verification of commercial weights and measures of traders.
Responding to an appeal made by the trainees, the Controller agreed to provide duty uniform at least once in two year.
The resources persons, highlighted the various provisions of Consumer Protection Act, 1986 as well as sealing and verification procedures of weighing and measuring instruments, matter related to account, pension rule, leave rules, service norms, the role of Manual Assistants, legal aspect on metrology, maintenance and procedure of laboratories, basics of metrology as well as standardization and Packaged Commodities Rules.
Sixteen Manual Assistants participated in the training.
