ITANAGAR, Sep 8: A soft skill training programme on “effective communication” was conducted under AICTE-NEQIP scheme for the first year students of all the disciplines at Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic, Itanagar from September 4 to 8.
The objective of the training programme, which was conducted in two separate batches combining AUE, EEE, TTM and CE and CSE students, was to improve communication aspects and to enhance the confidence of students in learning English language.
Various topics covered during the one week long training programme included functional grammar, spoken English –common mistakes, resume writing, business letter writing etc.
The students were given tailor made course book on spoken English which is of immense use to develop proficiency in English. Sessions were also conducted on verbal and non-verbal communication, understanding body language, reasons and ways to improve body language.
The training was imparted by two professional trainer Raj Rasool and Kunal Ghose of Third Eye Education consultant, Guwahati using audio-video visual teaching aids.
