Engineers’ Day celebrated

ITANAGAR, Sep 15: Commemorating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Late M. Visvesvaraya, Engineering fraternity of the state has celebrated the 50th Engineers’ Day in a befitting manner at Nirman Bhawan here on Friday. The theme of this year celebration is “Role of Engineers in a Developing India”. Engineers from work departments including APPWD, RWD, Power, UD, WRD attended the celebration which was organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Service Association (APESA).
Addressing the engineers on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary, PWD, UD, Municipal Affairs, Techi Kaso advised them to work hard and continue their working spirit for expeditious development of the state. He also dwelt upon discharging responsibility with utmost sincerity in an atmosphere free from corruption.
While responding to a memorandum submitted by APESA secretary general, Bini Pelen, Kaso assured the engineers for early consideration of their grievances.
In his address, APESA president, S Sumnyan called upon the engineering community to sharpen their skill and show greater maturity in their field of activities.
Citing devastation and destruction of infrastructures caused by incessant rain in recent past, he said “Fraternity of engineers need to be better prepared in coming days with in-depth introspection to tackle such devastations.”
Chief Engineer, SID&P, PWD, Atop Lego, gave a power-point presentation on the life and achievement of Father of Indian Engineering, Late M. Visvesvaraya.
