ZIRO, Sep 19: National award winning film Aaba was screened in a theatre at Ziro, Lower Subansiri district on September 18.
The movie revolves around the delicate relationship between a grandfather Aaba and a granddaughter, played by Dani Randa and Dani Sunku.
Besides a National Film awardee 2017 (Rajat Kamal), the film has also won many international awards, such as ‘Best Short Film’ at Berlinale (Germany) and ‘Best Short Drama’ at Aspen (USA) etc., thus bringing plenty of recognition, accolades and laurels to the Apatani valley.
During the special screening of the film, General Secretary, Tanii Supung Dukung, Tapi Tai felicitated and congratulated the team of Aaba.
During the interaction session of the filmmakers, the unit production manager, Koj Mama, who is also a leading local tour operator, said that he would like to promote film tourism in the state.
The film is directed by Amar Khaushik and produced by Raj Kumar Gupta, Mitul Dixit and co-produced by Onir and Alison Welly,
Aaba was made with an entirely local cast involving Dani Chuniya, Dr Joram Khopey, Hage Yami and crew members, namely Dani Lalyang, Pura H Tabiyo, Dani T Obing and Taku Ohmo, who are also members of ZESC, Ziro, a local film production house.
