BOMDILA, Sep 23: The Department of Education, West Kameng under the aegis of the District Administration organized a one-day Kala Utsav at Government Higher Secondary School auditorium of Bomdila on September 22.
Students of government higher secondary schools of Bomdila, Dirang, Kalaktang, and government secondary schools of Namsu, Rama Camp and Kakaling took part in it.
The students of the participating schools performed different cultural programmes, like Monpa folk and group dances, visual arts on Putang Shing (noodle making device) and theatre on Khandro Drowa Zangmo, play on “Ekta Ki Visheshtha” on theme of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharata,” visual arts on traditional Monpa carpet making and bag making and Aji Lamu dance.
In theatre play, Government Secondary School Kakaling, Government Higher Secondary School Kalaktang and Government Secondary School Namsu bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively.
Deputy Director of School Education, Dorjee Wangdi Kharma encouraged the students to participate in extra-curricular activities while also giving priority to their academic studies.
Few schools of West Kameng district could not participate due to road blockage.
