ANJAW, Sep 23: An awareness campaign-cum-district level coordination visit was conducted as part of ‘Swachata Hi Sewa’ Campaign at Goiliang Circle in Anjaw district on Friday.
During the campaign, Deputy Commissioner, Mamata Riba and a team of officers and PRI leaders conducted an intensive coordination meeting, wherein the DC assured the villagers of support and intensive participation from the district administration and the state government.
Further, the DC assured to earmark fund for construction of hostel at Government Middle School, toilet renovation of community hall in Goiliang and school kitchen in Gamliang School from the DC’s untied fund.
Anchal Chairperson, Soptem Bellai also submitted a memorandum to the DC seeking early posting of circle officers and other officers for the interior circle.
Further, the PHE&WS Department of Anjaw, in association with local NGO Anjaw Women’s Welfare Association organized an awareness campaign on Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH), wherein 120 girl students of KGBV, GHSS and JNV, Hawai participated.
Demonstration on hand-washing, along with educational videos and comic books were also used as a unique way of teaching students about MHH and the reproductive system during the campaign. (DIPRO)
