KHARSANG, Oct 2: Galaxy XI lifted the first Kharsang Football Super Cup defeating Rajanagar FC 4-2 in an exciting final match here on Monday.
The champions walked home with Rs 50,000 and a trophy, while the runners up was awarded Rs 30000 and a trophy.
The award for best disciplined team went to Namphainong FC. There were also few individual prizes.
The tournament with the theme ‘Say No To Drugs,Say Yes To Life’ was sponsored by local MLA and Minister for Geology and Mining,Food and Civil Supplies, Kamlung Mosang and organized by the Kharsang Sports Committee.
Earlier, addressing the gathering Minister Mosang said that Kharsang Sports Committee was doing a laudable job by organizing such sporting events to engage the youths in sporting activities and wean them away from the use of drugs and other harmful intoxicants.
He also informed about government job opportunities and incentives for meritorious sportspersons provided by the state government.
Informing that a sports complex at Kharsang was under consideration, he assured his support for the development of sports in the area. The Minister was also of the view that coaching facilities to the youths needs to be provided in order to develop and promote them.
