ITANAGAR, Oct 5: At least 27 MLAs, including ministers and parliamentary secretaries have been selected in the first batch to attend a Government of Arunachal organized two-week leadership training on e-governance, set to begin from October 24.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad has been selected as the training partner, where the first week of training will be held, while the second week of training will be held in London, United Kingdom.
The exposure tour is taking place at a time when questions are being raised about the financial condition of the Government of Arunachal.
“This is the classic case of misplaced priorities. Teachers working under SSA and RMSA are being forced to launch strike seeking release of their pending salaries. What is the need of spending so much money on foreign tour of MLAs? Instead of sending them abroad, government should have invited IIM authorities to Itanagar and arranged training programme here. This is sheer wastage of public money,” said a citizen.
